Todd Rowley

Todd Rowley has been Senior Vice President of Business/Corporate Development for Rivada Networks since July 2016 where he leads M&A, strategic partnering, and new business opportunities. In his previous position, he was Vice President of Business Development at Sprint for 16 years, specializing in strategic partnering and new business models. He successfully led Sprint’s efforts to develop and execute a rural LTE coverage strategy.

Anne Vazquez

Anne Vazquez is a Partner at NewSpring Investment Firm and the firm’s dedicated mezzanine funds. Her more than 14 years of experience in investing consulting, and strategic planning makes her an invaluable addition to the SpeedConnect board. Prior to joining NewSpring, Anne was a senior Analyst at American Capital, Ltd. and a Senior Associate at KPMG’s Philadelphia assurance practice. Vazquez has a BS from the University of Rhode Island and a Masters of Accountancy and Consultancy from Villanova University.

Founder and CEO

John Ogren is the founder and managing partner of SpeedConnect. After a successful career in the cable television industry, Mr. Ogren and his business partner Robert Liggett, Jr. purchased the rights to the 2.5GHz spectrum in Alpena, Michigan and began offering wireless broadband service in Northern Michigan. Subsequent spectrum acquisitions have led to successful expansion in seven states: Michigan, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho and Texas. Mr. Ogren earned a BA in Telecommunications, and an MBA from Michigan State University.

Bruce Ferguson

Bruce Ferguson is a seasoned, versatile financial manager who is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Big Boy Restaurant International, LLC and Liggett Holdings. Ferguson began his career with Deloitte Haskins & Sells where he quickly rose to Manager of their Middle Market Services Group and became an industry specialist in automotive dealerships, nonprofits, and technology consulting. His first stint as a CFO came at Macro Computer Products where he increased shareholder value from $5M to $36M. Ferguson is a licensed CPA with a degree from Wayne State University.

Robert G Liggett Jr.

Robert G Liggett Jr. is the founder, sole owner, and Chairman of the Liggett Broadcast Group. Over the years, the group has owned and operated stations in New York, Detroit, Buffalo, Minneapolis, Columbia, Dayton, and several California markets. Liggett is the recipient of the Michigan Association of Broadcasting’s Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2000, he merged his company with Citadel Communications Company. A year later, Liggett became the sole owner of Big Boy Restaurants International, LLC and has been actively reviving this classic brand. That year, he also founded SpeedNet, LLC, which provides high-speed modem service in rural areas.

Chief Development Officer

Philip Merrill is one of the wireless communications industry’s earliest pioneers, including president and founder of the original Wireless Cable Television Association, member of the Cable Television Pioneer’s Club and board member of the Wireless Cable Television Association. Merrill’s long and substantial career and history within the cable TV and wireless industries today spans more than 35 years. Prior to joining SpeedConnect, Merrill owned and operated many wireless internet and cable TV companies, including American Cable Television, Inc., Universal Wireless Corporation, Wellton Cable TV, CommSpeed, LLC and BeamSpeed, LLC. Merrill graduated with a BS in finance from Arizona State University. He is also a member of Flying Samaritans International, as a private pilot flying medical personnel to clinics in Mexico to provide medical attention to the indigenous population.

Henry Brennan

Henry Brennan is Company Secretary and General Counsel for SpeedConnect in addition to his seat on the Board of Managers. As a Partner and Coordinating Committee member at Howard & Howard, Brennan concentrates on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and general corporate law. He is also a founder and Board Member of Grow Michigan, LLC, a mezzanine/sub-debt fund created to provide growth capital to Michigan-based businesses. Brennan has a BA with honors from the University of Michigan and a JD from Wayne State University Law School.
